Vinyl gate

I recently installed several lengths of 4' high vinyl fencing by Veranda. Because of the height of the fencing I had to put it into the ground so it wouldn't stand so high because my wife and I both felt it would be too tall. So I dug a ditch to make it about 3' high. I got an extremely good price at Home Depot for the fencing and that's why I bought it. I have one opening where there should be a gate but the price of a 3' gate is insanely high (over $200). Can anyone show me how to build a 3' vinyl gate? I have one section of the 4' fencing left over. Thanks.

Can you take your 4' fence section apart?

Not very easily. The way it was made the cross pieces are cut and fitted with the uprights and to take it apart you almost have to ruin it. I tried that and it is not easy.

If you can't take it apart then shortening it will be very difficult.
