Fence post on concrete piers
I don’t see to much information online about setting fence post on top of concrete piers. If the piers are poured below frost depth and the post is secured to it with a post base is this an acceptable method? Any downfalls to doing it this way? There is some much conflicting information about the best method to setting posts to avoid rot so I am just not sure which method is best.

Absolutely not. Post bases don't have the strength to prevent a fence from swaying in the wind. It would work for a while but you wouldn't be happy with it in the long run I'm afraid.

Most post base brackets are designed to handle a load in one direction, straight down. Most do nothing to prevent a post from leaning to the side. They are used for porch columns and deck posts where the side to side strength is provided by something else. If you wish to put fence posts on top of concrete piers you might have to have brackets made but the first task would be to figure out how to attach them to your piers so they can transfer the bending load as the wind pushes against the fence.

I have previously set treated posts directly in concrete after wrapping the post with 15# felt paper. Has not been long enough to see any negative effects from this process.
