Chimney flashing reducer?
We're installing a direct vent gas fireplace in place of our wood burner. The new chimney will be 7.5" and the current one is 13". I'm told that I'll need to hire a roofer for the patch work since the new flashing won't have a large enough to base. The problem is that I can't find a roofer to do the job...they're all busy with more lucrative jobs.
What are my options? Is there a 7.5" flashing out there with a larger base? What about a reducer, so that we can run the new pipe through the 13" at the roof and then use the reducer to seal the annular space up top? We have an exposed chimney.

I would look for a different flashing. Some flare out naturally any bridge the distance over your existing hole.
