Removing ventless gas fireplace and mantel
We just bought a house that has come with a vent free gas fireplace and large mantel in the added room. We do not want this fireplace in this room any,ore as we have added a wall heating/air unit. Fireplace was apparently moved from front living to this room while house was being renovated. How hard would it be to remove or who could I contact locally to come remove?

Most are just two pieces, the surround, and the fire box.
Follow the gas line back to the supply, shut off the gas, remove the line and cap or plug off where the line was connected.
In most cases that surround is just sitting against the wall and can be slid straight out.
Once it's gone you can get to fire box.
