Removing fireplace insert
Hi
I want to remove an old wood burning insert and be able to use the existing fireplace as normal. The fireplace is in good shape. My questions concern getting the insert free and removing the flue liner etc. The insert is a Regency.

Just so you know, fireplace inserts are typically much more efficient, and cleaner burning, then a standard fireplace. You should be able to just uninstall it in reverse order that it was installed. Google "Regency fireplace insert" with your model number and you will likely fine a pdf of the installation instructions.

I agree 100% with Toyln on this one, big mistake!
An airtight insert will use far less wood, in most cases put out far more real usable heat, not suck out make up air from other rooms making them colder.
