Wood stove replacement door gasket
According to the manual the door gaskets for my Vermont Castings Dutchwest 2461 are 7/16". Looking online in local stores I haven't found that size, the closest is 3/8" Would that be ok to use? I figured what's in there now has been at a reduced diameter for a while now.

I found 7/16" at several online stores but don't know which stores are local for you.
The smaller size would probably work ok but there is no guarantee it won't leak with a little bit of aging.

I'm in Conn., have the usual Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware and the big box stores, Unfortunately the closest wood stove store closed. Another suggestion I saw was get 1/2" and just pull it to stretch it a bit.
I also saw several online, next time I should order the 7/16" ahead of the season.

I ended up using 3/8", seems to be close enough. Next time though, I may order the correct replacement online as 7/16" doesn't seem to be an item stocked in stores.
I'm one of the few that prefers to make purchases at local stores, but with changes in retail I may have to change too.
