Woodstove auto thermostat stopped working

Recently had firebrick in base of stove restored with paste after 30 years of use. Now thermostat stopped working. Don’t know the name of components!

You have not told us anything to allow us to help. It's like saying my car doesn't run and you haven't even told us what type of car you have or anything about the problem. If posting pictures would help here are some instructions.

insulating above ground boiler lines

I have a section of above ground copper wood boiler lines that runs from my pump shed to my attached garage at about 6' heiht, and on to the house. They are going to stay where they are for at least another year, so lets not go there. Is there a point of diminishing returns when insulating them? In other words, if I wrap them in foam noodles and pipe wrap should I also build a large enough protected enclosure to wrap them with high-R value fiberglass insulation? How much is enough and how much is a waste of time and space?Read More

Need help installing blower motor

I have an old Temco in which I would like to install a blower. I cant get the motor all the way to the back because there is a piece of sheet metal which I have labeled as "intervening sheet metal" which is parallel to, and about half way between, the inside firebox bottom and outer firebox bottom as shown in the first photo. In this photo you can see the cutout hole whole between the two fireboxes where I would like to put the fan but cant. There is also a bracket on the floor of unknown function. The intervening metal sheet is riveted in place and doesn't seem movable at least without removing something else. In the second photo, I've lifted up the somewhat flexible intervening sheet metal piece to show that there is a rectangular cutout in it. In the third photo, I shown the motor sitting within the rectangular cutout in the intervening sheet metal and attached to the floor bracket. In this configuration the air comes in the top of the blower (red arrows) and blows back perpendicular to the plane of the photo toward the hole where the fan should go. It works to the extent the air is sucked in the bottom louver and out the top. Please suggest how to best mount this blower. I haven't removed the refractory side walls so I don't know if there is any more accessibility then. I am unable to purchase a modern fireplace so I would like to see if I can make do with this.
