Ice build up chimney
Hi
I would need some advice please.
I live in Canada.
Just got my roof redone and noticed ice build up on top of chimney
I have a natural gas furnace.
I have been living here 20 years and this never happened before.
any idea?
thanks for your advice

Has anything changed that could increase the humidity in the house re: fish tanks, more people. a bathroom fan not working etc.?
Are you also getting condensation on your windows? That of coarse depends on where in Canada you live.
Do you know your interiors humidity level?
By a new roof I assume you mean just new shingles.
Also what type of chimney?

I cannot see any reason why new shingles could cause this.
If you have a humidifier on the furnace check that it is not leaking.
Check the flame on the furnace,
Hopefully someone else will jump in who has seen this on this type of chimney.
I have only seen it once and that is my neighbor but he has a pipe style chimney and a hot tub in the house.
