Help with stud removal, placement
Hi all,
I'm currently in the middle of a bathroom reno. We're demoing our 2nd floor master bath. I removed a closet that was next to the double vanity and I need to make room for a 4-gang switch intend to place where the existing one is now. The problem is that an existing stud is currently where I'd like to put it. I'm thinking the framing was positioned this way for the closet. as there seems to be an inordinate amount of 2x4s in this area. Can I remove or move the stud I'm pointing to in order to accommodate this?

I would say you can notch or remove the stud. It looks like it was only placed there to secure the switch box.
The stud to the right would have been too close to the door for a switch.

Am I okay here?
So. I notched out that stud to place the 4gang switch and the box for the thermostat. However, while I was running the conduit I had problems drilling accurate holes to move the conduit from the floor to the box. Structurally, Am I okay here? This is a second floor bathroom, the wall is an interior wall. I have blueprints if you need to see a picture.

You have no worries on an interior non load bearing wall. Plus, as mentioned, there are plenty of other studs in that wall.
