Vaulted ceiling load bearing wall

First hello everyone first time here. My question is about my parition wall dividing my living room from the kitchen. I removed the sheet rock to see what is behind them and what I could possibly do. I can see that the rafters for the vaulted ceiling are resting on the top plate of kitchen partion wall(you can't see them in the pics but they are there). I would like to open the entrance to the kitchen which will require supporting the vaulted ceiling. I'd appreciate any ideas for the best way to support the vaulted ceiling while I remove the studs and install a new header. Thanks in advance.

I would rip a 4x4 lengthwise with the angle of your vaulted ceiling. Securely screw this to the joists of the vaulted ceiling providing a level mounting surface to build a temporary support wall.
