Leg facing in or out?

Double three leg pedestal table......does the single long leg face in towards the center or out? Was told that the single leg should always face inwards to provide better support but....then those who sit at each end have to straddle that leg but, with the other two facing outward it does not look like allot of room to place your feet? So what is better?

I don't think so. He mentions a single long leg. FWIW, I'm not picturing it's either.

But he said "Double three leg pedestal table" so I would assume it is like the link that SS supplied. I guess David will verify later

I'm with stickshift:

Doesn't look like either way would be much of an obstacle to chairs or feet.

With the single leg pointed inward the corners of the table are more stable. Depending on the length of the table I'd expect it to set 6, 4 or each side and 1 on each end. I would think the leg would only be an issue if you tried to crowd more folks at the table than it was designed for.

Assuming I have the right table design, I think Tow Guy is right and the long leg goes inward.

Stickshift and Tow Guy are right, the long leg goes inwards.

Do a search for Duncan Phyfe tables. This is some of the finest furniture ever made.
