Outdoor furniture--stain or paint? Poly?
Hello,
My husband just built me an outdoor dinning table. It will sit on our deck under the sun during the warm months and be stored indoors during the winter.
I want the table to be white. What is the best way for me to finish the table? I can't decide between a semi-transparent white stain or an outdoor paint. If I use a stain, do I then cover with a poly? If I use an outdoor paint, do I then use poly?
Basically, I know the table will need refinishing every few years, but what will make it last the longest? If I put like five coats of some sort of poly, will I not need to refinish it for five years? Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forums.
My vote would be a solid body deck stain.
Five years is pretty optimistic for any covering.
