Timber Oil and Poly?

Timber Oil and Poly?
I really like how this Thompson's Water Seal Timber Oil stains oak and I want to give some extra layer of protection and shine....would it be OK to apply a layer of MinWax Polyurethane over the Timber Oil ?
I know the Thompson Timber Oil is really for exterior wood like decks but I have some left and want to use for small handrail made of oak....just not sure what will happen....
Thanks!

I'm not familiar with TWS's timber oil stain but assume it's a deck/siding stain. If it isn't applied too thick you could apply poly over it but that isn't ideal. Plus the coloring it gives exterior wood won't necessarily be the same on interior wood. Ideally you'd get the stain color matched with an interior oil base penetrating stain and use it instead!
