What material it is? Composite?

My friend bought new furniture and my wife liked the material and finishing. I don't know what kind of material this is so was wondering if someone can identify and also suggest where to buy the material from?
I also inquired around local furniture store and found one but they said it is made out of organic composite material. Per my knowledge I have only heard that for decking like Trex.
See picture below.
Thanks,
S2K

What is your end goal? personally I'd shy away from any particle board or composite.

Assuming you want to stain it similar to that veneer you'd probably want to use birch.

If you want a white pickled finish with some grain, oak ply wouldn't look bad. Or you could look into thermofoil adhesive sheets.
