Refinishing an old Vanity table

Hello!

I am currently refinishing an old vanity table that was purchased somewhere between 1960-1970. It is from the brand Dixie the sent piece lifts up to reveal a mirror. When I was removing the mirror, I noticed a piece of the bottom corner was chipped off. Iím looking to replace the mirror, but am unsure if I want to attach the new mirror in the same way or in a different way. Being an older piece, the mirror was screwed on and had decorative flowers disguising the screws. I would prefer to have a frameless mirror without the four visible screws. It is possible to adhere the mirror directly to the wood securely enough that it will not fall off? Thanks in advance!
