putting a shelf where a drawer used to be?

I have a desk without a drawer but I would like to put a shelf in there. How can I do this?
There are no brackets or braces in there.
Thanks

Add 1"x!' corner braces under the shelf. Example: https://www.lowes.com/pd/National-Ha...ace/1000201727

Thanks. I want to put a thin shelf in there, it will probably have to be cut to size from a larger piece of wood. I think a quarter or 1/8" thickness will suffice.Who can do that? I have found HD wood cutting to be very basic, I doubt they can do that.

I've never utilized the big box sawing but I'd assume they could do it. You want to make sure you have accurate measurements. I suspect 1/8" is too thin, 1/4" might be ok if you don't intend to put anything heavy in there.
