Mighty Mule auto gate question please help
Aloha from Maui everyone, this is my first post:
Does anyone know if/how I can install my mighty mule gate opener backwards? To clarify I mean to have the gate closed when the ram is closed and the gate open when the ram is extended? I connected it to the previous owners' steel tabs that were on there from before and it was perfect for reverse operation, but when I close the gate it automatically opens after about 20 seconds.
It would be fairly easy for me to install it the other way but I'd rather not, and it seems like common sense to have the ram closed to the weather when the gate is closed!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums.
What model Mule are you working with there ?
I doubt your weather is anything that will harm the ram..... not like here.

Those rams are designed to be extended when the gate is closed and retracted when the gate is open. I've seen them operate in all kinds of weather without issue so I'm sure the weather where you are would not affect them at all. Rather than trying to redesign the system just use it how it is designed to be used.
