How to align sensors correctly
I was messing around with the receiver sensor (Linear LD033) and now the sensors are no longer aligned. I tried using a string and laser leveler from this Youtube instructions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t5KGASNskg but the damn thing still won't align. The receiver is still show only a green light (normally it's both solid green and red).
Any tips on getting this fixed?

You don 't have to be so precise as to use a laser to align them. It really is a matter of using the lights on the units themselves. Point the receiving one towards the sending unit and then move the sending one until you get the lights needed and tighten it up. Have you tried operating the door yet?

Sometimes wiggling them a little as you did when you adjusted them, knocks one of the wires loose on the back of the sensor units. Check to make sure you have good connections all around.

Thx I tried that and usually that fixes the problem. However after much wiggling nothing happened so I ended loosening the screw off the receiver sensor and tried many adjustments. This problem literally started after I moved the sensor one inch of its base. Did I short circuit the sensor?

I measure off the ground and point straight across. Very rarely ever have aim problems. Try to keep the receiver on the side out of the direct afternoon sun.
I also replace many of those sensors. They get wet, they get stepped on and hit. I don't fool around. If they won't aim immediately I replace them with a new set. Some of those sensor pairs are complete junk.

I had a client whose doors didn't have sensors. I argued that a house built in 2005 had sensors. I went to her house and found the installers had put the sensors above the door in the center pointed to each other 
Just too darned lazy to put a return board at the bottom to mount them to.

Replacing the sensor is basically removing the old ones and wiring the new ones?
