Typical double car sectional door, original 1985, with 8 year old Craftsman chain drive opener, was serviced about 6 years ago to replace broken torsion springs and had new rollers installed also at that time. Over the last 6 months I've noticed a sound become progressively louder, particularly when closing. It can be heard well above the motor noise. It comes from near the right side cable drum. I've watched it closely and can see no unusual movement, nothing obviously loose. It sounds like: Click-CLACK.........Click-CLACK.......etc, with each Click-CLACK seeming to coincide with each revolution of the drum. The only thing I can think of is a worn bearing race on that end of the shaft, perhaps a broken/missing ball. Any ideas? Next question, if it IS a worn out bearing, does replacement require unloading the springs? Thank You.

Im looking to extend a 7 ft opener to a 10 ft opener via an extension kit. The opener I have is a Genie Revolution Series (Powermax 1500). Apparently Genie doesn't offer a 3 ft extention kit, only a 1 ft kit. Therefore does anyone know of any other brands that are compatible with Genie? A number of other brands DO make a 3 ft extention kit.[left]Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I've spent way too much time trying to make this work..[/left]
