Hello:

Many years ago, I treated my garage floor with the basis rustoleum epoxy. A year ago it was starting to show wear so I put the rustoleum primer on the floor, then put on a coat of rock-solid.

Spots are starting to wear down already (kind of disappointing), but that’s not the issue. The issue is, when the floor is wet, it is almost like a slip-n-slide. I even put down extra chips. But it is still very slippery.

My issue/question. I am going to reply the areas that have worn down. Can I now get the non-skid additive and ‘touch-up’ the areas where one is most likely to slip? I don’t want to redo the whole floor, due to cost. Hoping I can just retreat certain areas with fresh “rock solid + additive” with the non-skid additive?

Or is there a clear top coat I could apply to the entire floor? Or maybe mix in the non-skid additive into a clear top coat.

Any ideas/tips/thoughts?

I think it's too late for really non-slip additives like sand. There are some non-slip additives that can be mixed in with the coating. They prevent it from developing a shiny smooth surface and make it have more a matt finish. Better than super smooth but not what I'd call grippy. Whatever you choose make certain that's it's compatible with the coating you're applying.
