Garage opener only works at night with remote.

Have to hold interior button down from inside until garage fully closes. This ONLY occurs during the day. It is a Craftsman garage door opener. This occurs with hand remote, app remote, and installed remote in my vehicle.

Welcome. Just a guess, but wondering if the angle is just so that daylight is playing tricks with the safety beam, so I'd start by fab'ing a couple of temporary shields from some dark paper and see if that leads toward nailing it down.

Start by flip flopping the safety beams on the door rail. Sunlight may be causing a trip in the light beam that tells the unit that there is an obstruction. Flipping them may take care of the problem.

Does the door do a jerking type thing when it does not close? Occasionally this happens with mine. Mainly in cold weather and it's because of the rails being slightly twisted due to temp changes. If I hold the interior button it seems to overcome the slight mis-alignment and closes. In warm weather never a problem. Mine are also Craftsman.
