refurb current garage door or buy new

My 24x24 garage doubles as a wood shop. I (try to) use it throughout the year. It gets mighty cold during Jan. and Feb. and hot during the summer. The door is a single segmented double car door, and is about 20 yrs. old. I was thinking that having a better insulated door would be a good way to make the space more workable. The door appears to be about 1 1/4" thick with hard Styrofoam as insulation.

My question is would it be better to try and beef up the current insulation and weather tightness (how?) or buy a new one (which one - type …)? If I get a new one I'd probably have to have it installed, the coil springs are a pain and I don't have much young muscle help around here.
Thanks!

One easy way to upgrade your current door is to add weatherstripping to make sure the gaps between panels and panels to garage framing are closed. You can also glue rigid foam onto the inside or replace the existing foam with a known high R value foam. You need to be careful and not cause binding with the weatherstripping but closing up the gaps and stopping air infiltration will help a lot. If you add foam to the door you are adding weight so the spring may need to be adjusted.

So the question I would ask, is the rest of the garage insulated?
