When to plant a Boxwood in Massachusetts
I live in eastern Massachusetts.....just south of Boston. I've been wanting to plant a Boxwood but have held off due to the Summer heat and drought conditions. I decided to wait until the Fall.....but is it too late to plant now? Weather has been fairly mild for this time of year but could change at any time.

I would plant now. Boxwood is an evergreen which can handle fall planting better than deciduous trees. And, planting now the shrub will still have a good 3-4 months before the soil temp drops enough to stop root growth.

I agree with Dane. Just a point of interest. Don't plant it too close to the house, as their full grown diameter can intrude on the space causing moisture problems.
