Whats this on my new tree?
Just bought and planted this sugar maple tree and noticed this on different parts of it. My question is what is it and if its bad how do I get rid of it?

It looks like the start of a white lichen. There is a product that I have used with pretty good results called wet and forget however, it's number one ingredient is limestone. So using a solution of watered down limestone powder will probably achieve the same results and be cheaper.
