Advice on pruning fig tree

Hello
I have a 40 year old fig tree that's never been pruned. It has lots of close to the ground branches, and really no trunk, or several trunks, and I'm inquiring which ones I should prune away. I hope the picture helps, but it's not great. That's it in front of the tall pine. Many thanks!

Prune just as you would any other fruit tree. Figs are extremely hearty so no special pruning is needed. Without any leaves we can't see which parts might be healthy or diseased but remove those portions first. With a plant that old you shouldn't even try to get it to one trunk and a upright form. Just work with what you've got.
