I know the big 5 gallon propane tubs swap in and out but what about those one liter dinky dogs? The buddy heater goes through them like one every couple hours do they go in the regular recycling bin or is there another system?

Those little guys..... like the 16.4oz bottles..... go into the regular trash.
They are not recycled in the single stream recycling system that most towns use.

They are steel and can be brought to some recyclers but they might not be accepted as it's visibly hard to see if they are empty. No one wants to crush one of them if there's a substantial quantity of gas in it.

Some county's have days set aside when items like that can be brought in for reclamation.

People don't realize how expensive those types of heaters are to run.
