Shutting off gas ONLY to dryer

I recently sold my gas dryer. I closed the gas valve before unhooking the dryer. But now my stove is not working. How do I shut off the gas valve ONLY to the dryer and keep gas going to the rest of my house. It was built in 1960s, so kinda old.

There should be a shutoff for each appliance. If not you should add one, then cap the output. If you don't want to do that, just cap the line to the dryer.

You can't trust just the valve. You need to cap the output of the valve as well. That may require a nipple into the valve and then a cap on that. Make sure to use the correct pipe dope/tape. Gas tape is yellow...read the label on the dope.
