Oven thermometer broke off

The thermometer to my oven that connects to its thermostat snapped off the other day. Now when I turn the oven on it just goes at full heat all the time. The stove is an old GE hotpoint, model RGB5241F0AD. I have attached some pictures that show the model number and thermostat. Can anyone advise one what to do?

I can't reattach the thermometer probe to it's wire by soldering can I?

I assume I will need to purchase a replacement. Will I need an entire thermostat or can I just get the thermometer probe?

According to Sears parts..... your safety valve could be a WB21X374 or WB21X5231.

I checked at a dealer and found it could also be a WB21X5232. This valve should be able to be replaced by a universal type widely available.... 5817S0007 gas safety valve kit. The link is one place to get it. That dealer can confirm it's what you need. This is a kit..... NOT a direct fit so some work is involved.

It's not a thermometer.......... it's an actual thermostatic gas valve.
The kit comes with different mounting brackets and brass gas line adapter fittings.
