What's up with this thermostat wiring ?
I just bought a new house and I'm thinking of installing an ecobee thermostat. I looked at the wiring of my current thermostat and noticed there's no wire in the C. There is however a wire in the blank spot that actually says e behind the wire. I looked at the wiring on the furnace and it that wire in the e spot is on C. But there's two C's. Question is .Can I use the wire in the e for the C on the smart thermostat?
I have no idea why it won't let me post pictures .

Two C terminals at the furnace or two wires on the C terminal/screw? If the later you are fine.

Both .There's two c terminals but one has two wires on it .The wire going to E on the thermostat is going to C on the furnace. As far as I know the E is only for heat pumps which I don't have.

Really need to see this. How to insert pictures.
Also - post model numbers for the thermostat and furnace.

Yes you are correct. The E is for heat pumps. That black wire needs to be moved to the C terminal.
