Quality/lifespan of ICM and White Rodgers replacement control boards

Hello!

I need to swap out a Carrier control board. Aside from the factory Carrier board, I can get a ICM282/282a board or the White Rodgers 50M56U-751 universal replacement for the HK series.

Has anyone had good luck, or short-term failures, with either of these cheaper replacements?

I wouldn't worry. ICM has been the go-to brand for years and White Rodgers makes OEM boards.

ICM seems to be a good company. They manufacture their stuff right in the us, most other companies out-source to mexico or worse. i wouldn't hesitate to use one of their boards.
