Creating my own greenhouse

I know this is the doityourself forum, but I tried to create my own greenhouse and it ended in disaster. Has anyone used any bought greenhouses? I was looking at one from a company called XXXX.

Besides buying one, can anyone give me some advice to building something similar to this?

Shed door facelift

I'm planning on replacing the 2x4s on my shed doors as the current ones are in rough shape. In this picture, you can kinda see the right vertical 2x4 on the left door is really bad...the top and bottom of it have rotted. The others aren't too bad but they are all showing signs of splitting which can't really be seen in this picture (wish pictures could be larger here). [ATTACH]64022[/ATTACH] Also, the doors don't quite shut right. It appears they aren't lined up properly and I think it might be because of these piano hinges: [ATTACH]64023[/ATTACH] They're nailed it and it looks like where they're nailed in is flattened out more than where they aren't nailed in. And in some spots it also seems like the hinge isn't quite flush against the 2x4 it's nailed to. So my idea is to of course get some new 2x4s cut to the appropriate sizes, paint them to match as closely as possible to the original color, and screw them onto the door. Currently they're just nailed in. Then I'm thinking of getting some strap hinges that screw onto the exterior of the doors. I did find that the door panels themselves are slightly different sizes...there's about an inch size variance between the two. Not sure if I actually need to do anything about that.... Gazebo base ideas?

We are installing a 12' gazebo from the local home store. It has a covered roof, metal supports, and pull-back screening to keep the bugs out. We took out a small flower bed in the back yard and plan to install the gazebo over it. My concern is what base I should have for this project? I can't have grass cause the shade will kill it anyway... my older MIL needs a somewhat firm base so she won't fall... I don't really want to install patio stones (144 @ $2 ea)... I thought about paver base and tamping it down, but don't think it will hold well, but maybe if I put something like a tarp over it... pouring a concrete base is too much... give me some ideas?Read More
