Easy secure way to connect two pieces of screen?
What would be an easy way to connect two pieces of screen securely? I'm trying to save some money and use various pieces

Hmm... That would be cheap! And secure! What about a glue. There's gotta be a strong enough even transparent glue

Best fix I've come across is to use a medium test fishing line to 'sew' the screens together.
Sometimes you may have to use a 'needle' but many times simply cutting the line diagonally to create a narrow point is enouth.

Glue is tough to work with. There's not much for it to attach to.
I've built some screens and filters for my pool and have used black hot glue on black screen.
That looks ok but if you're hanging the screen... it will be splotchy.

While there are thick needles for sewing canvas, at the eye of the needle the line 'bends' and is double-wide, which may not pass through. So, you can cut the fishing line diagonally so it is not blunt, but pointy.
Having that pointy end makes it easier to 'sew' the screen parts together.
In some cases you have to sew a patch in, but sometimes you can simply 'sew' the 2 sides of a ripped screen together- first you 'zig-zag' the line back and forth about 1-inch outside the rip to pull the ripped sides together to they overlap THEN you run a stitch straigh down through the overlapping sides so they close.

Actually not bad at all. $8/section basically. But I think for fun I'll sew a couple pieces for the front screen door as it has a sorta grill I can sew behind

Screen is so cheap that your time must not be worth anything if you feel the need to sew pieces of screen together. Just saying.

It's not THAT cheap. And I use my time to figure things out, ya know learn, in places for "doing it yourself" crazy you'd find someone looking to spend less money and gain skills in such a forum

Lol, not bad and no sewing. We'll see. It's pretty tight. If any mosquitoes get through then they deserve a bite
