Springs for lift top coffee table

I need to replace the springs for the lift the top of our coffee table to a desk/table. I used basic springs available at hardware store but it just doesn't give as much assist as the original springs. Where can I get springs that will increase the assist upon lifting? I believe they are 6" springs. I would need to take off to get exact measurement. Thanks for any info!

Just search the Internet. Amazon and Ebay have many as well as industrial suppliers like MSC (Manhattan Supply) and then there are the numerous people that will pop up when you search for springs. You will want to know the type of spring, length (unextended and maximum extension length), outside diameter of the coils and diameter of wire.

Google spring suppliers and I came up with a page of them . Also had a map of local suppliers.
