(GSHP) Owner's, your advice does matter!

This fall, I'm building a new Home.
At this point I'm considering a (GSHP) system.

A (GSHP) supposed to be very efficient?

One builder described it to me as the only improvement you can make in your house which pays you back while you still live there. Obviously things like insulation and air sealing could as well but you get the idea.

I don't own a geo but I service them regularly. I am a big fan of Climatemaster and Waterfurnace. I find that you can get great efficiency from geothermal equipment if the ground loop is correctly sized and purged.

I like the fact that the gpm, btu output and efficiency can be measured with each checkup.

The claimed efficiency is without circulating pumps that are located in the piping external to the heat pump but ,since the pump(s) are the equivalent of a condenser fan motor, I like to see the efficiency both ways.

That's the biggie. The ground loop is the lifeblood of the system. It must be sized and installed correctly. There is no way to recover from an improperly/undersized loop install.
