Making heat pump emergency heat only
I just installed 2 new mini split units to replace my old heat pump that uses duct work. What I want to do is use the electric emergency heat as backup.
My Question --I would like to remove the outside unit. If I just cap off the wires going to the outside unit and keep the inside wiring the same, and set the stat on emergency heat will this work.

Welcome to the forums.
Yes... that will work. You would keep the stat in OFF when not in use.
