Heat pump ok when closing house for winter ?

hello: I shut down my house in winter , January till march. I drain the water and shut of the heat. I just got my heat pump. does it hurt them to be shut of in freezing weather ? or does will hurt the heat pump to be shut down forb 2 to 3 months? I have thought about leaving it on low but I am worried something will happen when I am not here, Thank you

Not going to hurt a thing to leave it off.
What is it you think will happen if you left it on low?
Worst that can happen is it does not come on if you lose power.
You are adding RV antifreeze to the the toilet, and all the drain traps. and blowing out all the lines with air once there drained, right?
What's your location?

Welcome to the forums.

If you go into user bio information.... there is a selection for Canada.
A heat pump in your area will come with a crankcase heater on the compressor. That will remain on the entire winter keeping the compressor warm.
