Using forced air for a radiant heating system

Does anyone have any experience (or info) using forced air for a radiant heating system instead of water? Does it damage the wood by drying out too much? I would like to use it between the joists with no ducts.

As long as you have forced air, I would use it the traditional way.

Honeywell Thermostat for Goodman Heat Pump

Hello, I am installing a Honeywell RTH6580WF thermostat for my Goodman Packaged Heat Pump (GPH1436H41). I have 18/7 wire. The heat pump wiring diagram shows the following: Yellow wire to Y Red wire to R Green wire to G White wire to W1 Orange wire to O Brown wire to W2 Blue wire to C The thermostat has the following terminals: K W2 - A/E G - G W - O/B C - C Y - Y R - R RC - RC I'm assuming I wire it like this. Is this correct? Yellow wire to Y - Y Green wire to G - G Blue wire to C - C Orange wire to O - O/B Red wire to R - R (use jumper to also connect to RC - RC?) White and Brown wires to W2 - A/E Any help would be appreciated.Read More

Help with Goodman Heat Pump

I am brand new, and came here for some help that seems lacking on other forums. I am a DIYer, and understand heat pump/ac operation fairly well. So here goes: This 8 year old used Goodman unit was bought from craigslist, another craigslist tech installed it in 2015. Worked fine last year with no issues, both heating and cooling. This fall I noticed the fan not working and unit shutting off, so I replaced the fan motor as it was hard to turn. Unit worked fine for 2 months but now it's starting, running for 5 minutes and shutting off (no compressor and no fan), and not coming back on. I am wondering how I can troubleshoot, and what to look for. I put a new run cap (same numbers as old one ) on it but still has the same issue. The only other items I can think to look at would be defrost board, or the contactor, both easy to replace. I can post model # etc if needed, but I am hoping someone can give me some guidance on where to go with this and what to troubleshoot. Thanks in advance.Read More
