Bathroom Towel Bar Placement

We're just about to the finishing stages of our bathroom remodel. DH asked me where I wanted to mount a towel bar, and to be honest, I don't have a clue!

I had originally planned on installing it above the toilet, but he informed me that he thought that was gross and unsanitary. After thinking about it, I tend to agree with him, but not sure where else to install it to be convenient for the vanity?

I'm not really a fan of towel rings and even where to put one if I did?? Hope the pictures I've included will help and someone can give me some suggestions!

Are those the only options? nothing on the other wall? Maybe mount one on the left edge/side of the cabinet. We have one over the commode but it's for the towels I'm not allowed to use

Look at mounting them one over the other on the back of the door. You can also mount a small one on the side of your vanity to the left side. Then if not convenient to the shower itself, mount a robe hook on the wall next to the shower to hold your towel and have it convenient to grab when your shower is complete.

Thanks all for your suggestions. Never guessed this would require so much thought!lol I just wanted a hand towel to have close to the sink/vanity and readily accessible. I did try and do a mock-up picture of another idea I had but not sure if this would be "safe" (under the light switch?) Not sure if there is enough space here (about 11" from the edge of the vanity to the door frame). Would this be feasible in this spot?Name: on the wall.jpg

I had forgotten I'd even posted this! Just a little update, we did get a towel bar mounted on the vanity. It works perfectly for us....and not in the way!

HAHA, what type of bathroom activity would cause a towel hanging on the wall above the toilet to be unsanitary, know what I probably dont want to know!

BTW, we have always hung towel bars above our toilets!

I think the biggest issue with that location would be if the towel happened to fall....

Wow.... it looks like you just lucked out with the receptacle locations.
You could still add a towel ring too for those "off limits" towels.

Before we remodeled the bathroom, we also had a towel bar above the toilet. (Hubby never liked it there either). You'd be surprised on how much "splashing" can come from the toilet! Not that anyone could probably see it, but it's there.
