Remote pump monitoring control wiring
I want to run a 18gg wire from my well pressure switch to my upstairs with a small light. this light will tell me if the pump is on...is 18gg ok to use with 240 volts?

Welcome to the forums.
NO..... you cannot run the 240v power on a #18 wire. It would be best to not run 240v anywhere. You could use a relay to activate a light.... or a transformer to allow you to run a much lower and safer voltage.
Here is a perfect item that does exactly what you want. You run just one conductor of the pump thru it and when it draws power..... the LED lights. The voltage to the LED is extremely low and you can extend that wire with your #18.
