Power Status Indicator

I'm a control freak. I'm installing an attic fan that is powered through it's own thermostat. I want a way to know when the fan is running without having to crawl into the attic.

Is there anything that exists out there that I can implement that would tell me when the fan is running? Some type of wifi "hey i'm on" thingy?

I am considering running lines to install an on/off switch in the house so I can kill the fan when I don't want it on, but this would all happen before the thermostat so I still wouldn't know if it's actually running.

Welcome to the forums.

CR Magnetics makes an easy to use sensor. It comes with a little coil that the hot wire for the fan runs thru. It lights up a remote red LED.

Remote current indicator

An alternate way to do this is to use a small AC transformer that gets powered when the fan comes on. Then you could wire in a remote LED to it.
