How can i build a 15 inch amp?

Hi guys, I found a speaker box for a 15 inch speaker in a container yesterday.

It would be cool to build an amp out of it with a tele and an xlr plug.

How do i turn it into an amp? Its okay if it only has a power on and a volume control.

thankful for tips.

Thanks for moving it.

I wanna get a 15 inch speaker. is there some stuff i can order online to make it an amplifier?
Like i build it into the box. Just some simple stuff, i just wanna see how it works.

And it would be really cool if i could have both a tele plug and a xlr.

What would the amp and speaker be used for? Most sound systems are stereo and require a minimum of two speakers.

Frankly what you show in the picture isn't worth much without a speaker and you would probably be best just buying what you really need but you need to tell us what you need it for. Is it a PA system?

Note: OP is located in South Africa.

Kefflon, you have a box. That's it. You would need an amplifier and speaker. There may be sources in your area, but finding periphery that will fit this box may be a challenge.

I wanna use it for voice or guitar or other instruments.
To me its okay if its just 1 speaker. And the quality of the sound is not important.

The ideal would be if i can have a xlr input for a mike and a tele input for other instruments.

and if i could connect it to a PA to hear myself when I'm on stage.

I just need basic stuff, would be nice to build something just to see it work.

I went to a shop now and i see its a box for 12 inch speakers.

I can buy a speaker there, but the rest i think i have to order on eBay, since I'm in Namibia.

Is there DIY kit for amplifiers that i can fit in the box?

I went to ask my husband about this (since he's been a musician since he was like 11) and he told me to tell you that this wouldn't really make a good box for a guitar amp. Guitar cabinets have to be designed a little differently to vocal amps, PA speakers, or stereo speakers, which is more what this looks like. You'd have to cut new inputs for it, you'd have to seal it a lot better, and it would require a lot better speakers than what you might have access to.

Honestly, you're better off just using it for like a PA system or as one-half of a home system, but...that's gonna take a lot of work, and all you've got right now is a box.

Thank you guys.

Yes, I think the box belongs to a car speaker.

Its probably not the best for an instrument amp, but I just wanna see if it works, if I buy a diy kit and connect it to a speaker, and make room for inputs and controls in the box.

I don't have much electrician experience, but its fun to try things.
Anyone know of a diy kit i could use?
