Projector resolution between inputs

I have an Optoma ES526 projector that connects VGA, I want to use component cables on it, but this uses proprietary VGA/Component adapter... and this thing costs around $70. The projector already has an old school S-video connector on it and I could probably buy one of these cables for cheaper...

Any thoughts on the resolution difference between a VGA/component versus S-video connection??

Only thing worse than S-video is composite video. Yes, the VGA/component will be significantly better than S.

That's what I figured. Just bought a new projector - made more sense to me than a $70 dongle... lol. Thanks for the reply!
