subwoofer connections
I have an Oppo dvd/cd player that has subwoofer out. Usually you run this to an AV receiver etc. But some simple amps dont have a sub in or even more than one set of input
pins for coax. If you have a powered subwoofer can you run straight to the sub from the DVD player????

You can connect it to a powered sub-woofer but would likely have to control the volume on the sub itself.
Try it and see how it works.

Assuming you have the UDP-203 model.
That unit has 7.1 surround sound output available on analog jacks.
The remote control controls the analog outputs including the subwoofer output.
How do you process the main audio from the player ?
1. On the UDP-203, the volume control only affects the analog audio output. It does not apply to digital audio output (HDMI, Coaxial and Optical) either in raw bitstream format or inLPCM format.
2. The VOL +/- buttons on the player’s remote control are provided as an alternative way of controlling the audio volume. It is recommended that you use this control to make
the audio volume from the player the same as from other sources, such as TV programs or a VCR.
Press the VOL – button to decrease the volume.
Press the VOL + button to increase the volume.
