Question Amazon fire Stick

I purchased an amazon fire fox, I dont know anything yet about it, what I would like to know do you get any channels from it to test it right out of the box. I do have a wireless router for my laptop. or can I see anything that is free on my laptop with this fire stick?

The Firestick is a portal to both free and pay content. It comes with lots of pre0-installed apps but there's not much you can access for free right out of the box. If you have Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc you can activate those apps and then watch their content on your TV via the Firestick. Youtube was one of the few sources of free entertainment you could view with Firestick but as of Jan1 they pulled their support and the app doesn't work now. Fortunately there are a couple internet browser apps (Firefox is one) that you can use to access Youtube's website. Same stuff--but the app worked better.

Go to this site and put in your zip code in the "enter location" box. It will show you what's available. Unfortunately you are pretty far out on the island and may get severely limited reception without an outside antenna.

This is another site. Just enter your zip code for a free survey.... TV Fool

Pete - I think the OP is looking for info about an Amazon Firestick, a streaming media device that connects a TV to the internet via
WIFI.

I have had a ROKU stick for a couple of years and we've gotten to the point where we seldom watch cable TV. There is a ton of free content available.
