Cow shed speaker installation

Hello evryone,

I would like to instal 7 speaker in my cowshed (6 with the cows and one in the diary room). Its only for a background music and dont need to play loud or verry good, its for the cows after all, only the one in the diary room will be only for me

Im not sure of the setup i have tought but here it is. What do you think about it?

The speaker are plug in parallel with the main wire

I have tough taking only a normal home teather amplifier and some small outdoor speaker. 25 wats should be enough.

The only thing im not sure is the gage if the wire i need, i know i will have some signal lost over the distance but im not sure of how mutch.

Also im not sure but im thinking of instaling some variable resistance on the speaker to individualy control the sound. The back speaker will be near some huge fan an i might need litle more volume there than at the other end of the cowshed. but i dont whant to invest in some expensive selector or thing like that.

Thank you in advance

Welcome to the forums.

There is equipment just for distributing sound over distances like that. It would be an amplifier with a 70v speaker line. Then each speaker accepts the 70v line signal for balanced sound level. The amplifier will allow you to connect multiple speakers to it without damaging it. #18 or #16 speaker wiring would be ok.

If you use a home theater amp you risk damaging it by connecting too many speakers to it unless you plan to run a wire from every speaker to that unit. You'd need to run larger speaker wire with this setup.

Just some viewable links to give you an idea what's available. There should be used stuff on eBay as well as checking on your local Craigs list.

Thank you for the links

the more i think of if with those flute like speaker i think running only one centra lead wire ant put only 4 speaker space out by 50 feet each instat of 3 pair space at 0, 100 and 200 feet. like we i could have bether sound distribution and less expensive wire.

For the amplifier i only need one output max 2, i will not use the other one.

Thinking of using 4 of those as speaker,

and this amplifier

and 250 feet of cable should be enough

https://www.amazon.com/NavePoint-250...6+speaker+wire

for the last speaker in the diary room/office i can just use the 25 volt output of this amp. and a regular speaker

Waiting on you feedback thank you for the help

Those speakers, that amp and wire will work fine. 40 watts of power should be plenty to do what you want. When you wire the speakers.... you will be connecting to transformer leads inside the speaker. You can tap them at different wattages to adjust the volume to cover the area better.

You will connect the 70v horns to C and 70v. A regular speaker (4-8 ohm) will connect from C to 8Ω. The regular speaker may appear louder than the other speakers and may require its own volume control.

10 watts is pretty loud.... especially thru those horns. There should not be a problem also connecting the regular speaker.

Ok i just review it and i saw that it say 105 Decibels. That is loud as a grinder! its pretty small but pack a lot of energy lol

For the the separate volume control for the speaker in the office i can just pus a variable resistance ont its own line and control it by there like one of those?

https://www.amazon.com/Ceramic-Wirew...volume+control

or even just put a normal resistance on the line to fix it at a volume that i whant

You would need a control with higher resistance. 100-250 ohms. A fixed resistor would also work.
