Our in ceiling speakers are currently hooked up to a Sonos Amp. They are all on one circuit and I have no desire to play different sources in different rooms. The be charitable I am not a fan of the Sonos system. I have a Denon AVR-X2000 receiver which has assignable Surround Back L and R. My plan is to make the Surround Back a Zone 2 and hook the wires up to the left and right inputs. So my question is, is there a problem with that plan. Thanks.

If you have experience with circuit boards, audio, or car stereos, I could use your help. So the goal of all of this has been to get my right speakers in my car working. When I first got my car, a 1993 Buick Century, they would go in and out a lot, going back and forth from working fine to being extremely muted. Like 7% of the volume of my left speakers. Over time, it’s reached a point where they don’t really come on at all, they’re just always muted. It never really becomes an issue until I’m listening to a song with a lot of panning, and I can only hear half the song. A while back, I got my rear speakers replaced (they didn’t work at all when I first got my car), and upon doing so realized that my right back speaker didn’t work either, even after getting brand new ones freshly installed. Given this information, I believe pretty confidently that the issues is not in my speakers, nor is it in my car wiring (as, given my understanding based on the research I did and looking at my own wires, upon the signal’s leaving of the stereo it splits into TWO separate wires for REAR right and FRONT right, and I think it would be pretty weird if both of these separate wirings in my car were encountering the exact same issues), thus it must be an issue within the stereo itself. Furthermore, it is not an issue with the radio receiver nor the tape deck, as the issue occurs in both. Correct me if this logic is at all skewed. This brings me to where I am now: I’ve dismantled my dash and taken my stereo apart, hoping to use my small knowledge of circuit boards I got from a guitar-pedal-building-mini-term I took in high school to inspect all the components and see if I can find the problem myself. So I have a few questions for those of you with experience; Smudges of black on a circuit board: is this a sign of a blown component? Or smudges of black on the component itself? I’ve got a couple instances of blackness on the board and I see one capacitor (there’s a very good chance I’m defining this component wrong, just basing that on what I remember from my pedal class years ago) with black on the top exposed metal part while all the others are shiny and clean. Doesn’t one mono audio signal need two wires (a positive and a negative) to travel? I ask because looking inside this thing, the output that clips into the harness (the ONLY thing connecting the stereo to the car, aside from the radio receiver) internally only has 4 wires bridging it to the rest of the circuit boards, two of which run to the power switch, leaving only 2 wires (orange and brown) to carry a stereo signal out. Which I would assume needs 4? I’m not sure, this is confusing to me. It must be that one is left and one is right, right? Will the problem I’m looking for be visually evident, or is there a good chance it exists within one of these tiny resisters/capacitors/thingies/etc. and I wouldn’t be able to tell it’s faulty just by looking at it? If so, how difficult is it to obtain one of those signal readers technicians use and learn how to use it to diagnose an issue? Lastly, what are the odds that this is completely out of my capabilities and I should just get a new stereo? Also if anyone has anything that would negate my deduction of this issue as an issue isolated within the stereo that would be great to. If you think it could be an issue with the wiring in my car is what I mean. Thank you all very much for reading. I apologize for the length.
