Do cities keep a copy of your house plans?

Do cities keep a copy of your house plans?

I am wanting original plans to my house, circa 1970's. Would the city have a copy? Can i pay to get a copy?

I doubt it. On my first home the builder left me all the blue prints. I used those blueprints many time. Wish I had them for this house.

You can always ask but like Norm, I doubt that's something they would keep a record of. If there are similar houses in your area, those folks might be of some help depending on what work they've done to their houses.

I once managed to get from the city some plans for my place built late 50s but nothing useful. had the foundation and the lot info not much to go on. no water lines or power lines. they gave me the builder name and told me to go find them and see if they had anything. not very helpful.

It's worth asking but depends upon each town's policies.
