Help identifying pest

My dad has these small little worm like things that appear in his basement on the floor mainly near the bathroom area. They seem surronded by some type of hard black little dots. He says he has to keep sweeping them up and there are lots of them but mainly in the summer months. Can anyone help me identity what this is. The state is in Pennsylvania. Thank you.

They look like they might be millipedes. Don't know about the black dots, but our bug pro should be able to help.

Millipedes. Don’t know what the dots are. Millipedes are harmless but a nuisance. Not much you can do sometimes. I’ve recently noticed some dead ones in our basement, also in PA.
Do the black dots, spots, etc seem related to the millipedes and/or their appearance?

He thinks they might be sowbugs or pillbugs How to Kill Pillbugs |Get Rid of Sowbugs
They are mainly appearing in the basement near the garage and downstairs bathroom that is right next to the garage. There are usually of of them and he just has to keep sweeping them up all the time. You might be right about the black dots being poop? Unless it's something else blowing in from outside that is just a coincidence.

No, they're Millipedes. I see them in my basement on occasion, too.
ETA: If you unroll them, you'll see they now look like a long, skinny worm with lots of legs.
