Slugs appear from nowhere

Slugs appear from nowhere
Lately I've been seeing slugs in my bathroom, and they just seem to appear out of nowhere. I left the bathroom for a few minutes, and when I came back, there was a slug. How did it get there? I sealed every gap possible and checked everywhere for cracks or gaps, and there were none. Where did this slug come from? and how did it appear in the bathroom so quickly? I am puzzled!

They like moisture. They usually come in from outside. If your bathroom is at ground level or on a slab.... they can get thru tiny holes.
Are they near the toilet ?
If you look at the floor from an angle you may see a trail from where they are to where they came from.
It really would be better if they came into the kitchen.
Then you could at least use them in a salad.

I am absolutely, 100% certain, that they're slugs. Most of them are an inch and a half long. I've seen a few near the front door before, and their faint trails. But mostly in the bathroom near the toilet. I just had my toilet replaced about a week ago. I've seen them also before the toilet was replaced. I hate picking them up because they somewhat stick to the floor and are disgusting. Where do they originate from? It's still a mystery to me. And yes, that salad remark was very gross. I hope you're joking because I've only seen slugs eaten on survival shows.

The toilet itself is not sealed to the floor, just the plumbing connection to the pipe below. Thus, if you are on a slab they could be sneaking our from under the toilet. Use a bright flashlight at a shallow angle to see if you can spot the trails. Or put down a light coating of powder.
Big question is, is the house on a slab foundation?

Yes, I'm pretty sure that it's a slab foundation. When the toilet was replaced, they sealed it on quite tightly. I've checked for any cracks or gaps but couldn't find any. The toilet is even sealed with caulk. I've heard that slugs can contort their bodies to fit under the smallest of spaces. Only problem is, I can't find any gaps or open spaces. I flushed four slugs down the toilet last night. They were all near the front door entrance. The door also has a weather strip, so I can't seem to figure out where they're coming from. And interesting enough, there are no visible slug trails. And there is a weather strip to make sure no insects, bugs, or flies can enter. I am at a loss. It's like they're coming from another dimension.

There are trails you just need to get the light right or dust with a fine coating of baby powder or other. First objective is to locate where they are coming from.
As for the toilet, the drain line goes down and out to the sewer location but a vent pipe right behind the toilet is coming up through that concrete and headed for the roof. Probably the same thing is occurring in the kitchen, drain goes down through the concrete. Every penetration through the slab creates a possible access point for them to get above the slab inside your walls and then look around for an access point to squeeze into the house.
An exterminator might attack the problem in much the same way they do termites, drill through the floor and inject their treatment.
Let's see if others know of any bait type solution for a DIY approach.

Found a few more last night. A few times have they been appearing in the bathroom, but most of them appear at the front door entrance. The front door has a weather strip and there are no gaps or cracks, so I'm still puzzled.

Have you tried the powder?? We can't see from where we sit so rely on you to do the testing. There IS a gap or crack somewhere that leads from under your slab (or from outside) and since you are seeing them at multiple times and at different locations you have a significant colony down there. Catching and elimination the ones that enter will not eliminate the colony. IMO You will need someone to apply the appropriate poison below the slab and then treat the perimeter of the foundation to be sure they don't return.
The alternative would be to locate and seal those penetrations, like plumbing pipes, that go down through the concrete. But slabs are known to develop cracks over time so the ones made during construction may not be the only ones. You could also treat the perimeter to see if that might be the source.
