Blue Jays in my yard; grub problem?
Does a plethora (right now there are 6) of Blue Jays pecking around my lawn indicate a grub problem?
Interestingly they are not in anyone's yard around me, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that uses grub control (Merit) each year (in June).
I have noticed Japanese Beetles the past few days so I'm a bit concerned that my preventative grub control hasn't worked.
Am debating hitting the lawn with Dylox or Sevin (carbaryl) to immediately kill any grubs that my preventive measures have missed.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

I’m not aware that birds eat grubs, although I imagine they would if they could find them. The adult beetles will fly for great distances so their presence doesn’t mean that the grub treatment failed. I’ve attached a study that addresses the issue of how far the adults fly. Hope this helps.
